In their own words — people who have worked with SovereignOS™ programs.
When sharing Impact X with the world, I always say what really tells the success of a program is the people who have actually taken it. We've had over 20 businesses launch since the launch of SovereignOS™ in Muncie.
Muncie was a city coming off of a decade of corruption, and trust was at an all time low when we initially launched here in Muncie. SovereignOS™ had to earn trust from people who had given up hope. I think that's the biggest thing, when done right, that SovereignOS™ does for a community is give it back hope.
ImpactX remains the single best course I have taken throughout my entire time in university. It was the first class where we were not just memorizing textbooks, but actually learning how to think, innovate, and apply business skills to real-world challenges centered around the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Attending the SovereignOS™ Entrepreneurship Community Class at the College of Charleston in 2017 and 2018 changed my life. My name is Marilyn Hemingway and completing the Course, founded and taught by Stuart Williams, gave me the confidence, focus, and practical tools to turn my commitment to the Gullah Geechee community into action. It helped me see that entrepreneurship could honor our heritage while creating opportunities for our future. And yes, after completing the course the first time, I attended parts of later co-horts to affirm the lessons learned!
Some people teach a class, some share information, and some inspire us to think differently. And then, every so often, God places someone in our path who does something far greater. They invest in us until we begin to see possibilities we never knew existed. For me, that person is Stuart Williams.
Of all those experiences, however, my entrepreneurship class had one of the biggest impacts on me. It became a source of motivation, encouragement, and support. It even gave me self-confidence again. That class gave me a little nudge to start thinking differently about myself and to recognize that I still had so much potential.
Before then, I had always viewed my business as a way to get by in life. My goal was simply to make enough money to survive and keep moving forward. But Ms. Jenny, the Colonel, and Stuart helped me understand that I could think bigger than that. They challenged me to look beyond where I was and start considering where I could be. They helped me realize that there is a difference between simply having a business and building something meaningful with it. There is a difference between surviving and truly striving to become better.
Mrs. Jenny, Stuart, Miss Miller, and the Colonel genuinely care about your futures more than you may realize—perhaps even more than you do at this moment. They see potential in you, and they are willing to invest their time and energy in helping you succeed. ... They will show up for you in court and stand behind you when you put in the work to better yourself.
Out since February, he worked his way back into running Omega Movers. Today he is engaged, has his baby, and is back to building his future.
I remember when I first met you and joined your class, I was just in the class for the food. Ha ha. Look at me now, with a whole different mind frame and a whole different perspective on life… Appreciate our transformational relationship.
P.S. I graduated college.
I've worked with Jason for almost five years. He's still in jail, his life is changing, and he graduated college. (Stuart M. Williams, SovereignOS™)
